As the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak has reached all provinces and cities of Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has undertaken a distance learning initiative. This proactive and flexible approach has ensured “continuing learning despite school closure” and created an opportunity to accelerate the digital transition within the education sector.
The change of Vietnam’s education sector
In 2020 – 2021, Vietnam’s education system had many notable changes. In early 2020, more than 24 million Vietnamese students had to leave school due to the impact of the pandemic. As of now, more than 80% of students have safely returned to classes through online teaching. School facilities and teachers are ready and have adapted to this sudden but inevitable change.

Commit to aid the educators
ELSA, a Vietnamese EdTech start-up, top 5 global English speaking learning application, has been working diligently to create comprehensive educational solutions to bridge the needs of improving English for learners, teachers, and administrators of training institutions.
Within the past two years, ELSA has taken part in the digital transition in Education. ELSA has launched many study encouragement programs for students nationwide; participated in online workshops and share the best tips, tricks in applying and optimizing technology in teaching for teachers; and built a comprehensive learning management solution, helping school facilities shorten the process of proficiency testing, management, reporting and letting them focus on teaching.
In July 2021, ELSA launched the “Stay home active, study active with ELSA” program, which aimed to spread the spirit of resilience and empower students and teachers alike to keep learning and to improve themselves amidst challenging times. Specifically, ELSA will sponsor 100% of the cost of using the ELSA Pro package for one year for all teachers nationwide. The sponsorship has no time limit for registration. Teachers only need to download ELSA on App Store or Google Play, and register here.
Mr. Michael Ngo, ELSA’s Country Manager, shared, “As many educational activities are being interrupted, ELSA team wants to support the community by giving away the world-class products that we have worked hard to research. As an individual working in the Education sector, I believe that English is an essential skill. With this modest contribution, we hope that students and teachers will have an additional useful tool to improve their English skills continuously.”
